چکیده
This study presents a method that establishes the existence of competitive adsorption between polycarboxylate ether (PCE) molecules with different molecular architecture. By combining well-established total organic carbon measurements UV–Visible absorption, competition PCEs structures could be quantified. Results are interpreted by deriving fundamental thermodynamic model describing PCE as dynamic equilibrium adsorbed and dissolved architectures. The rationalizes effect dispersity in charge backbone length on behavior contributes to understanding working mechanism level.

Adsorption of comb copolymers on weakly attractive solid surfaces.
In this work continuum and lattice Monte Carlo simulation methods are used to study the adsorption of linear and comb polymers on flat surfaces. Selected polymer segments, located at the tips of the side chains in comb polymers or equally spaced along the linear polymers, are attracted to each other and to the surface via square-well potentials. The rest of the polymer segments are modeled as t...
متن کاملThermodynamic Evaluation of Adsorption of Zinc Complex and ZnO Nano-Layer Prepared by TSCD Method Based on Langmuir Adsorption Model
Zinc oxide thin films were deposited on soda-lime glass substrates from an aqueous zinccontaining complex by two-stage chemical deposition (TSCD) method. Longmuir adsorption model showed that the adsorption of atoms on the surface of the substrate was typically physical. The relation between the fractional coverage, θ, with the equilibrium constant of the adsorption reaction was nonlinear indic...
متن کاملA Thermodynamic Study of the Interactions between Acetamide Derivatives and PCA-PEG-PCA Copolymers: ONIOM Calculations
To improve drug selectivity toward target cells, one interesting approach for drug delivery is to use polymer nanoparticles. A two-layered ONIOM Becke3- LYP: UFF calculation was carried out to study the structural and thermodynamic properties of the interaction between acetamide derivatives and the PCA-PEG-PCA copolymers. The Interaction enthalpies and the Gibbs free energies between acetamide ...
متن کاملCompetitive adsorption: a physical model for lung surfactant inactivation.
Charged, surface-active serum proteins can severely reduce or eliminate the adsorption of lung surfactant from the subphase to the alveolar air-liquid interface via a kinetically controlled competitive adsorption process. The decreased surfactant concentration at the interface leads to higher surface tensions during the compression of the interface during breathing. The correspondence between t...
متن کاملModel for Competitive Adsorption of Organic Cations on Clays
-The adsorption on montmorillonite of two monovalent organic cations, methylene blue (MB) and thioflavin T (TFT), was studied in four different situations: (1) separate adsorption of MB or TFT; (2) competitive adsorption of TFT and Cs; (3) competitive adsorption of the two organic cations from their equimolar solutions; and (4) adsorption of TFT on a clay whose cation-exchange capacity (CEC) ha...
